The Significance of Success in Your Life By Theodore Henderson The Wisdom Man Why do you want to be successful? Why does everyone want to be successful? One primary reason is that it means turning personal visions into reality. Most people are convinced that the accomplishing of these aspirations are a precursor of personal satisfaction, which can result in everlasting happiness and ultimate contentment. Hence, being successful is an important part of people's lives. With that said, it's no longer surprising to see an abundance of publications dedicated to helping people realize their ambitions. The internet, for example, is already a primary source of self-help articles and motivational blog posts that purport to teach you how to fulfill your life goals; hence, becoming successful, supposedly, shouldn't be too hard in this day and age of technology as you can practically find everything at your fingertips. The truth is the vast majority of what I've found online shows you what you may want to do but not how to do it. Only training and coaching can do that. However, some people remain dissatisfied with life despite their many accomplishments. The reason behind such discontent is that many individuals are often misled by the belief that having high salaries, owning huge houses, and buying luxury cars can ultimately bring them happiness. Life, however, has a different road for us. Time and again, life has proven that money alone cannot inspire happiness in the same way that success should not be equated to wealth and fame. Without personal satisfaction, material gains are meaningless. You cannot consider them as valid indicators of being successful. So, What is a Real Success? Well, success means different things to different individuals. What it means to you is based on your principles and take on life. The problem is people tend to shape their idea of success based on others' definition of that word. Unfortunately, they are left feeling empty and disappointed with life because no one can tell you what will make you happy. Each of us has to take that journey. For you to be truly successful, know what matters to you most and learn to appreciate the things you achieved. Another observation is that the only way for people to understand success is to experience failure first. Victory is always sweet when you fight hard to attain it. To realize it, you must first understand how it is to fail. What is Failure? Like success, many things can cause you to fail. Top most on the list is the fear of the unknown. Uncertainty is always frightening. When people see no guarantee of becoming successful in a particular path, fear tends to hold them back. Fear is paralyzing. It prevents you from experimenting with anything new and exciting. When you refuse to move or even try to make something happen, progress is stunted and the potential to succeed dies along with your hopes and dreams. Self-doubt is also a person's worst enemy. When you doubt your ability, it is reflected in your stance. As a result, you lose other people's confidence in you. Giving up on a project or a dream is one primary reason for failure. When you become downhearted by constant criticism or the succession of unsuccessful attempts, you tend to give up on yourself, and you just completely stop trying. What is a failure? When handled correctly it is the inevitable road to success.
