Ways to Be a Creative & Innovative Entrepreneur

The Wisdom Man

When I think of creativity or innovation with my entrepreneurial hat on one, there’s a fantastic line in Alice in Wonderland, that comes to mind, when the Queen says, “Occasionally I think of 6 impossible things before breakfast.” I believe you’ll concur that this needs to be creative thinking at its finest! As a small business proprietor, this is an optimal mindset that you’re genuinely required to make every effort to cultivate. However, precisely how in the world can you open your mind to get to the state where ideas just splash out?

We, of course, expect small business owners to be innovative, otherwise just how could they run their own firm? If you have an uneasy sensation that creative thinking is not one of your strengths then what can you do to stimulate your mind as well as get it jump-started?

Have No Limits

Way too many people are ‘minimal and limited thinkers.’ They have their world “boxed up” in a way that absolutely nothing can exist outside of that. If the paper reports something, then it has to be right. If the guy next door says that something is impossible, then he should be right. As an entrepreneur and small business owner, you can not afford to be an unimaginative and ‘limited thinker.’ You have to be an ‘unlimited thinker.’ Enter into the habit of seeing no boundaries; choose that there are no taboos or out of bounds areas. Have the idea that with the proper emphasis you can discover an innovative remedy to all of your issues. This is the structure of a creative thought process.

Be Future-Focused

Creative concepts invariably come when you ‘look’ into the future. The sensation of propelling yourself forward and seeing the challenges solved is a terrific motivator. Do you believe you could accomplish the same outcome if you were backward looking continuously? I do not believe so! Train yourself to be future-focused, continually looking ahead, not a conventional or limited thinker who attempts to find solutions in today or the past and not the future.

Be a Writer and Recorder

When you open your mind to the wonder of “creativity,” the ideas will quickly start flowing, as if water has actually overflowed the walls of a dam! Just like flooding water, unless you channel and direct the flow, the concepts are gone forever. Record all your ideas and thoughts by carrying a small pocket notepad with you. I use one that is a little smaller than my hand.  I find it easier than using a smartphone but use whatever will work best for you.  In this way as quickly as a suggestion jumps into your mind, write a note. It does not matter just how eccentric it is; you could consider it at some point in the future.

The fact you are responding to the concepts by making a note of them will motivate you to be a lot more imaginative.

Be Confusion And Clutter-Free

If you are naturally a messy individual, then its time for you to leave that habit behind! A messy workplace will lead to a cluttered mind. You could not expect your brain to work successfully when all it’s doing is regularly reminding you how untidy your office is. To be imaginative remove all the mess from your life and also free your mind.

Be Action-Oriented & DO SOMETHING!

All of these points are excellent, but if you don’t take any action with your ideas, then you not should have bothered in the first place. An idea or a plan is nothing unless you take a specific action to help bring it to life. Regularly evaluate your notebook (then one I told you to carry and write in) and also see if there are any hidden treasures or suggestions which can be swiftly acted upon. A whole lot of your ideas may not fit at all however in there someplace is probably a suggestion, which if worked on, might transform you or your business. Dedicate yourself entirely to moving forward on as many of your “brainstorms” as you can.

Don’t be afraid to kick in the barries. As John Stuart Mill said, “That which seems the elevation of absurdity in one generation frequently ends up being the elevation of knowledge in the following.”

Let me end on one question – can you be too creative and innovative? I say No? Start embracing your dreams, put them to the test, embrace your success!
