Yes, You Can Save Money in a Recession

Recently I heard a news anchor marvel at the fact that the number of Americans who save money are on the rise. Additionally, we are also greatly reducing personal credit card debt, putting the cards away in a safe spot and spending just the cash that we can afford on items that we really need.  The negative economic outlook has prompted many consumers to exercise fiscal prudence, pay down debt and save money rather than frittering it away on unnecessary items.

That lead me on a hunt to see what was being reported on the internet about this topic.
